| (RE)CALIBRATIONS AND REPAIRS An individually calibrated antenna is essential for reliable and accurate compliance testing. While some of the antenna manufacturers would like you to believe that antennas built by the same techniques or built in one batch have identical responses, it may not be true. We are committed to supplying each test antenna with an individually measured antenna factor (AF) and a signed certificate of conformance attesting to the performance of the antenna. Calibrations are made by using the Reference Antenna Method (RAM) and the Three Antenna. Standard Site Method (SSM), both of which are described in American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Standard C63.5. Loop antennas are calibrated in accordance with the Standard Field Method (SFM) and Monopole/Whips are calibrated using equivalent Capacitance Substitution Method (CSM). Both, SFM and CSM, calibration methods are described in IEEE STD 291 - 1991. Our calibration site is periodically monitored using our field site sources (Model CFS-015) and a reference standard. Our Quality control system is in accordance with MIL-I-45208 requirements. This department maintains calibrated test equipment and test antenna standards in accordance with MIL-STD-45662A or ISO 9000. Our test equipment calibrations are directly traceable to NIST. We maintain calibration data for our previously supplied antennas. These data files are extremely useful to review the performance when an antenna is sent for recalibration/repair and to identify statistical variations in antennas. For reliable testing, we recommend recalibration of antennas once a year. We regularly calibrate and recalibrate antennas from other manufacturers, in addition to recalibration of our antennas. For recalibration and repairs, contact our Repairs Department for a return authorization number prior to shipping products to ARA. ENGINEERING SERVICES ARA TECH provides engineering solutions for a full range of EMC/EMI problems. Services include EMC simulation and analysis, EMC test plans, EMC control plans, EMC training and Spectrum management. We offer cost-effective solutions to problems such as antenna-to-antenna interference due to coupling, RF propagation interface, emissions data review analysis, multi-path characterization and interference prediction, analysis and mitigation.
